“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure…” Hebrews 6:19a
As I get into the swing of school again and as the work load begins to build I take comfort in knowing my hope is found in Christ. The verse above is our hall’s theme this year. Our entire hall is decorated in anchors, compasses, and sea gulls, among other nautical decorations. Hope is a word I am holding on to this school year. Last year I had a rough year. Life threw me into a bunch of situations I didn’t foresee and wasn’t prepared for. Although it was a time of growth both personal and spiritual, it was also a time of struggle. This year is a new beginning for me. It is a time to reflect and look back at God’s faithfulness during my difficult times last year. But it is also a time to move forward and enjoy the beautiful things God has gifted me with this year. He is faithful and good all the time. I have this hope, this expectation and yearning, to see Christ in me, to behold the things he has in store for me this year.
Coincidentally, before I knew anything about our hall’s nautical theme, the last week of summer I took on a little screen printing project that involved an anchor. Below are the images from that project.
